There are a range of county, state, and national parks across the U.S. Parks under the National Park Service umbrella include national parks, national monuments, national seashores, national historic sites, national historical parks, etc. Some charge an entry fee for any access (e.g., Yellowstone), some charge a fee for some programming and/or concessionaire services (e.g., the museum/cyclorama part of Gettysburg and the boat ride to get to Fort Sumter), and some do not charge a fee but limit access to a prescribed number of ranger-led tour tickets (e.g., Ford's Theatre), and some have basically open access at no charge (e.g., the Lincoln Memorial).
