5. Electronic Board Manufacturer [20 marks] In the excel file Manufacturing.xIsx, you can find the electronic boards serial numbers manufactured by a company in Vancouver, EBM. We have the test results of the past boards manufactured by EBM (Acceptable or Defective). Using the past data, we can find the probability of having a defective electronic board. Once their customer, Apple, receives the boards, they will also randomly test 8% of the boards and if more than 10% of the tested boards are defective, they will return the whole shipment and EBM will have to test and repair all boards. If more than 30% of the tested boards are defective, the customer will again return the shipmen, cancel the contract, and EBM will be penalized. Assume that Apple has ordered 500 electronic boards. a. What is the probability of a board to be defective? Use COUNTIF function in excel and provide a screenshot of the formula you used. b. What is the probability that Apple finds no defective board in their sample? (Show your work) c. What is the probability that Apple cancel the contract with EBM? (Show your work) d. What is the probability that Apple return the shipment for repair? (Show your work)
