There are four functions, consequences, reasons why behavior occurs. They are IEAT: Internal, Escape, Attention, and Access to a Tangible/Activity. Internal reinforcers feel good inside: food, music, sex, coffee, etc. Escape is negative reinforcement and we'll study that soon. Attention is communication, and Tanglbles/Activities are the things we like to have and do. Some behaviors can have multiple reinforcers like playing basketball. It's physicall fun (internal), it involves socializaiton (attention), and it is an activity.
