There are many laws in this country regarding the age of maturity. In most states you can drive at 16, vote at 18, buy a drink at 21, enlist in the military at 18, and buy a handgun at 21. Just before the recent SCOTUS ruling on Roe vs Wade, most states did not have a universal age requirement regarding parental input for an abortion. For the States that did, it ranged between ages 15 and 16.

1. Is this ethical for a minor to be able to walk into, a clinic and have an abortion at will when they would be able to legally walk into a pediatrician's office to be treated for a common cold? Why or why not in your opinion?

2. Do these age of maturity laws seem consistent to you ethically or legally?

3. Should the Federal government create laws to better define a universal age of maturity for this country?
