There are many laws in this country regarding the age of maturity. In most states you can drive at 16, vote at 18, buy a drink at 21, enlist in the military at 18, and buy a handgun at 21. Just before the recent SCOTUS ruling on Roe vs Wade, most states did not have a universal age requirement regarding parental input for an abortion. For the States that did, it ranged between ages 15 and 16.
1. Is this ethical for a minor to be able to walk into, a clinic and have an abortion at will when they would be able to legally walk into a pediatrician's office to be treated for a common cold? Why or why not in your opinion?
2. Do these age of maturity laws seem consistent to you ethically or legally?
