There are many ways I would define value in health care and it depends on the whose perspective we are speaking about. From a patient's perspective I would define value as receiving the best treatment, in the shortest amount of time, and within the most cost-effective way. In addition, as a patient, value would be treating me holistically instead of individually treating each symptom which could be more visits, more meds, more side effects from meds, and more money. In addition, having physicals, vaccines, annuals, etc. all in one visit instead of repeating visits for each item would be efficient and cost effective.
