There are many ways to manage conflict in the workplace. This includes changing the structure, changing the composition of the team, "focusing attention on a common enemy,' majority rule, and of course, problem solving (Dias). If I'm having a conflict with my manager over my performance review, | first would come in with the right attitude. | would enter with a collaborative style so that both | and my manager can solve the conflict in a way that we both get what we want. If I'm a manager, to get the best possible solution to the conflict, | would also enter with collaborative style. To help overcome the conflict, | would work together with my employee to set SMART goals, commend them on the positive things they've done, and maintain emotional balance if disagreements arise. | believe that all conflict can be resolved, but it can become impossible if these conflicts start to stack up. I've had my fair share of conflicts at work and | do my best to solve them quickly. If | were to let these conflicts fester, it would affect my mental well-being and ultimately, my work performance.
