There are opposing viewpoints between countries of the developed world and developing world, in terms of population growth, energy and resource use. People are considered a major resource in developing countries, but excessive population growth often hinders development due to instability caused by a lack of jobs and less access to social services. Although there are less people in developed countries; however, vast quantities of energy and resources are consumed per person, compared to that consumed in developing countries. In addition, large quantities of the resources consumed in developed countries are obtained from developing countries; this has resulted in severe economic and environmental exploitation.
