There are significant implications of adult learning theory for the security guard training program STATEMENT: Adults bring very little knowledge and work-related experiences with them to training. Unlike children, they don't need to know why they are learning something. This has led to an adult learning theory called pedagogy. This refers to an adult-oriented approach to learning that includes the awareness that adults are motivated by intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. The learning experience of adults takes into account the prior knowledge and experiences of the trainees and involves making the learning experience more problem centred and self-directed.
