There are situations where common law damages are inappropriate for a breach of contract and the innocent party will seek a remedy in equity. With reference to relevant cases:

a)discuss situations where the court applies specific performance, and

b)explain why specific performance is not normally applied in contracts for personal services and what other, alternative, remedies the court may consider in these situations.
