There has been much talk over the years regarding the simplification of language that is contained within contracts so as to better enable the average consumer of goods and /or services to understand the terms and conditions of the agreements to which they ascribe. Accordingly, would this allow the consumer to be more comfortable in knowing their rights and obligations under the contract ?

As such, should state laws be enacted that would require reliance upon clear and concise standardized contract language as regards the legal provisions of a contract?

Do you believe that in doing so, the government through its legislative branch would be overreaching to the degree of interfering in the freedom of contract ?
