There has been recent press about a woman named Brittany Maynard, a 29 year old woman terminally ill from brain cancer who decided to move to Oregon to take advantage of their "Death with Dignity" act, which essentially allows assisted suicide under strict circumstances. Several other states have considered adopting such rules and a few other countries have as well, most famously Switzerland.
