There have been proposals by some calling for the United States to steer toward socialist policies that include a "New Green Deal" that would nationalize the energy industry in the nation to achieve its lofty, if not misguided, goal of ceasing to use fossilized fuels; the nationalization of the health care insurance industry; and, other "ideas" such as universal "employment" even for those "unwilling" to work.

These extreme proposals appear to ignore the fact that for the past 200 years, capitalism has been the greatest engine for wealth in the history of mankind.
