For this assignment:
- Read the article: "Coronavirus misinformation and how scientists can help to fight it" by Nic Fleming (2020) and make notes on the author's main argument and supporting points. Pay attention to the rhetorical strategies that the author has used to support his argument.
- Write down at least one strength and one weakness of the author's argument.
- Look for at least two more reliable sources (website articles, academic articles, interviews, videos, talks) on the same topic, which include misinformation and its spread, ways to identify or control misinformation, and the impacts of misinformation.
- Read or listen to those sources and write down each author's main argument and supporting points, while you pay attention to their strategies and note the strengths and weaknesses of those arguments.
- Take notes on your view about misinformation based on your readings and analyses of the three sources.
- Write a multi-paragraph piece about " Dealing with Misinformation" (approximately600-800 words, double-spaced)
- Remember to put in-text citations for all direct quotations and paraphrases
- Remember to provide an APAreference for all three articles

1. Introduction Paragraph:
- Give some background information about the recent incident(s) regarding misinformation regarding coronavirus
- Introduce propositions such as why it is important to identify misinformation, how this can be done etc.
- Introduce the authors or speakers whose arguments you will focus on in your writing and their main arguments.
- Write what you think based on your readings and research (thesis statement).
2.Body Paragraph(s):
- Introduce the first source and its main argument. (Summarize very briefly in one or two sentences)
- Write about the rhetorical strategies used to support the argument and their strengths and weaknesses.
- Write what the author could have done to strengthen their argument or what information the reader needs to have a better understanding of the issue.
3.Body Paragraph(s):
- Introduce the second and third sources and briefly summarize their arguments.
- Point out the commonalities and the differences in the arguments of the three sources regarding police and police reform.
- Write about the strengths and weaknesses of the arguments and rhetorical strategies in the second and third sources.
- Write what each source needs to further clarify or what questions they need to answer.
4.Body Paragraph(s):
- Express your view about misinformation and its spread
- Support your proposition by referring to the arguments made in the three sources
5. Concluding Paragraph:
- Remind your reader of the issue under discussion
- Acknowledge different ideas and opinions about this issue
- Restate your proposition (paraphrase yourself)
- Point out to shortcomings of this writing and what other information is needed to have a better understanding of the issue
- Make any other recommendations that you have ( about improving our knowledge and understanding of this issue)
