There is a lot of terminology in this chapter. Sometimes, seemingly-similar terms can have different meanings. For example, the "Inpatient Census" is the count of the inpatients who are present at the facility at the census-taking time (usually around midnight), while the "Daily Inpatient Census" adds to that count the number of inpatients who were admitted and discharged on that day (A&D).
