There is no shortage of criminal activity reported in the news today. For this assignment, find a story of criminal activity that has made the news (national or local) within the last week or so. Identify how criminal evidence will play a role in the investigation of the criminal offense. Identify the types of evidence that might be searched for or found and any legal issues that law enforcement will face in the collection and presentation of this evidence. Identify how, or if, any statements from people might be relevant to the investigation, whether or not law enforcement can legally obtain said statements, and who might be key to get a statement from. Consider all aspects of the criminal investigation as if you were the lead law enforcement officer beginning the investigation.
