Assignment Instructions:

There are twoparts to this assignment.Part 1 is the Group Project and Part 2 is the Evaluation Form. Please note that Part 1 and Part 2 are required to be submitted for the Group Project.

Part 1: Group Project

You will work collaboratively to fulfill the requirements of this new leader training project. This is your opportunity to apply all the concepts learned in this course. Your group's task is to produce a " Leadership Training" handbook for this assignment.

Leadership Training Project

Silver Company is a startup tech company that has been established for three years. At the inception, the company started off with five individuals as the founders. The first year was challenging for the company, but the founders stayed consistent and determined, believing their company served an important purpose and it would only be a matter of time before their product gained notoriety. Just as suspected, what seemed like overnight, Silver company took off and their product was desired by many, not being able to keep up with the demand, the founders decided it was time to hire a larger staff and create separate departments, each with department directors, who would report directly to the founders. Being that the company was newly established, leaders were not promoted from within, instead, department leaders were brought and hired for their knowledge of the industry.

In year two, a full staff was established with the department leaders assigned. The founders started to notice a drop in productivity and tension among the directors and their teams. Understanding the importance of having highly functioning teams, the founders realized that the department leaders lacked leadership experience, having a clear understanding of the industry was not enough to lead a team to success. After careful consideration, the founders decided to hire an agency to develop a "New Leadership Training" handbook initiative that would be provided to all the new leaders and to use for future leaders.

As a group, you are the agency hired by Silver Company. Recognizing the importance of effective leadership, the founders decided to hire your agency to create a training handbook that will be used to onboard and train leaders. The training would be aimed at developing leadership skills and competencies in the current department leaders who lack the requisite competencies and new hires in the company. The handbook should address the following key areas:

1. Leadership Qualities and Skills: Identify and explain the essential qualities and skills required for effective leadership within Silver Company, considering the startup nature of the company and its specific industry.

Team Building and Collaboration: Provide strategies and techniques for new leaders to build and maintain strong, collaborative teams, fostering productivity and minimizing tension among team members.

Effective Communication: Outline communication strategies and techniques that new leaders should employ to effectively convey their vision, goals, and expectations to their teams.

Conflict Resolution and Management: Provide guidance and suggestions on how new leaders can navigate and manage challenges and conflicts within their departments, promoting a positive and harmonious work environment.

Cultivating Learning and Innovation: Propose strategies and approaches for new leaders to foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and innovation within their teams, aligning with the fast-paced nature of the tech industry.

Your group will collaboratively develop the training handbook, leveraging the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course. The handbook should serve as a valuable resource for Silver Company, enabling the successful development and empowerment of future leaders within the organization.

  • Content: The training handbook will be evaluated based on its comprehensive coverage of the below key areas essential for effective leadership within Silver Company, ensuring its relevance and alignment with the organization's needs.

  • Control of Syntax and Mechanics:The handbook's writing will be assessed for its clarity, coherence, and professionalism, ensuring that the content is presented in a well-structured manner and easily understood by the intended audience.
  • Sources and Evidence: The use of credible and relevant sources to support the content in the handbook will be carefully examined, with a focus on providing accurate information and well-documented references.

Submission Instructions:

  • The handbook should be a minimum of minimum of 3000 words and maximum 4500 words (not includeing the title and the reference list), have at least 10 references, and use high-quality, credible, relevant sources to develop ideas.
  • All team members must take part in the preparation of the assignment.
  • Your handbook should also include a cover page listing the names of all members, a team page indicating the role(s) and responsibilities of each team member, and a reference page. The paper should be well-written.
