Their work begain in $1977$ and continued until $1981.$ After further amendment in the General Assembly, it was submitted to voters who approved it$.$ The main result was a much shorter constitution that was better organized AND that it prohibited inclusion of any further constitutional amendments relating to only a particular city, county, or other local political subdivision.
