A piece of string is tied to the handle of the bucket and the bucket is then spun round in a vertical circle at a frequency of 1.45 Hz. The centre of mass of the water can be considered to be moving in a vertical circle of radius 0.625 m at a constant speed. a) i. Determine the tension in the string when the bucket is at its highest point. ii. Determine the tension in the string when the bucket is at its lowest point. iii. Determine the minimum tangential velocity required to keep the water in the bucket throughout the circular motion. iv. Determine the time period for this minimum tangential velocity. b) i.
