Velocity and Acceleration

Many people confuse velocity and acceleration. Give an example (not out of the book or from the Internet) which illustrates the difference between velocity and acceleration.

Velocity describes how fast a car moves, meanwhile acceleration describe whether the car is going faster, slower or at the exact same velocity. Pressing the gas pedal provides a positive number while pressing the brake provides a negative acceleration. Acceleration describes the change in velocity, meanwhile pressing the gas pedal hard or slowly will produce a positive change of acceleration or a much smaller positive change of acceleration closer to zero.
