This is a question I need help with, it's referring to the Foxmeyer Drugs' Bankruptcy case.
Please identify the structural component of IS in this case. Are there any problems with the structure component of the ERP problem? Please explain.
The following is additional information to help steer in the right direction for what I'm looking for:
If you only talk about the "symptoms" of the structure component of IS, without explaining why did these symptoms happen, you could at best get half points of this question.
For example, there are lots of obvious symptoms of the structure component of IS: lack of communication, lack of leadership, lack of managerial commitment, top-down management styles.... You need to analyze "why" did these symptoms happen, not only "what" these symptoms are.
For example, if you only mention "FoxMeyer has a top-down management style and this management style doesn't suit the implementation of IS",you will at best get half the points. I need you to analyze questionssuch as: why did they have a top-down management style? Why did they believe this is a good management style? Why didn't they change it when implementing the ERP system?
Another example, if you only mention the lack of communication problem/lack of leadership commitment problem without explaining why did these problem happen, you will also only get half of the points at best. You need to explain questions like: why didn't they commit to the project? Why didn't they communicate with lower level workers?
Attention: Without explaining these "why" questions, you may end up with a deliverable which you spent plenty of time on it, but get a very low grade.
