This is a very interesting case coming out of Kelowna, BC. There was a homeowner named Jiseon who had lived in her house for over 30 years without any problems. Recently, Rohani, a well-known accountant, purchased the home immediately next door. For the first few days, there were no problems between the two new neighbours; both were civil and shared an interest in the Kelowna Rockets hockey team. However, over time, Jiseon and Rohani's relationship soured as a result of numerous arguments. The tension between the two escalated to such a degree that at one point, Rohani went into the street outside Jiseon's home and began rummaging through Jiseon's trash which she had placed there awaiting pick-up by the City of Kelowna. Inside Jiseon's trash were a number of paper bank statements that Jiseon had decided to throw away. Jiseon looked out her window and saw Rohani going through her garbage in the street. It was clear he had discovered some of the bank statements and was reading through them. Jiseon raced out of her home, snatched the statements from the trash bags, and ran back inside. Once inside, Jiseon was extremely upset. To vent her frustration, she called the police and gave a statement about Rohani's behaviour. What tort could Jiseon use to sue Rohani?
