This is all about writing a padlet. I have attached the instructions from my professor. Please provide relevant answer with accurate resources. If it is not possible to provide correct answer please do not respond the text. I am exhausted with poor answers and irrelevant discussion from coursehero.
At this point in the course, we are bringing things together and wrapping up the course with a nice big bow! In14.2of your text (please read now) you will find consideration of a range of tourism trends. You might notice in that list, there are trends related to and emerging from geopolitical environments internationally or even related to PESTEL factors that we considered earlier in this course!
If we think about it, throughout this course, we not only looked at foundations of the tourism industry, and characteristics of each operating sector, but also innovationsand trendsin the operating sectors and industry.
So, what is a trend?
A trend comes from charting data representing a phenomenon. Let's say that the chart below represents vaccination rates in different age groups. While there is crazy fluctuation in the orange group, with ups and downs, and the blue group has a big downward then upwardtrend, the grey line has a steady upward trend.
Based on that silly little example, we have a bit of a sense of what a trend is and involves - it represents an even, consistent trajectory or direction.
Industry Trends
Being able to understand and spot trends is a central aspect of professional life, particularly in fast-moving, customer-driven industries like tourism. As industry professionals, we not only want to know where the industry is 'at', but also where it is going, and the role that we and the companies we own and work for will play in relation to those trends. Trust me, the question of what trends are at play in our industry and should we be doing anything related to those trends is a central question in our industry. Not participating in or responding to a trend can mean being left behind, while embracing a seeming trend too quickly can also have negative repercussions, particularly if that 'trend' turns out being a fad.
The point here is not to freak you out, but to recognize that being aware of, and alert and sensitive to changes and developments in our industry is part of being a modern-day professional...and the best way to do it is to continue to read the industry publications and news and get involved in industry associations.
Tourism Trends
With the chapter on trends in your text under your belt, and a sense of some trends related to PESTEL, your job is to spend some timeexploring industry publications to identify trends in tourismand thencontribute to the Padlet below. For your Padlet entry, you will be asked to:
1. Identify and describe a trend, indicating why it is a trend, and whether it is an 'emergent' or 'established' trend (1.5points)
2. Contemplate the significance of the trend and its proposed impacts of this trend on tourism (2points)
3. Provide links to resources, additional information about the trend in your post (.5points)
4. Chooseat leastone peer's trend to research, comment on and contribute to in the comments section of their post (1point)
Come early, come often, and at the end we will have a solid 'point in time trend resource' to ponder :-).
