This is an easier economic question to answer, and it is more for clarification. But, when it comes to the difference in a shift and a movement along any economic function/curve, a movement is if the price changes, and a shift is when anything changes the price.

The other part of that question is if it is for ANY curve. Or do movements occur from changes to the y-axis, and a shift would be anything other than a change in the y-axis (or is it just the x-axis)? I am a bit confused on this part, but it would help tremendously to explain if the changes in axis values cause these changes or something outside of the function.

An example would help using the labor market, investment, unemployment, or consumption would be more than appreciated to help (after a brief run down of shifts vs movements along).
