Part : Data Analysis points

Your friend owns a company that offers day educational tours to groups of children from various public schools. You have been asked to provide recommendations on how to increase commission income for the business without increasing the commission percentage.

You need to analyze some data that is stored in an Access database. The database shows the school name, School level High school, middle school, elementary school trip month, number students in the group, tour category, tour location, cost per student, commission percentage.

Using the EducationalTours.accdb file provided, export the database table into an excel spreadsheet. Then follow the steps on pages in your Cram book adapting the instructions to analyze the tour data.

Make sure you include:

statistics using SUM,CountA, CountIF

On a separate page: Filter, Sort, Subtotal

Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts.

You decide on the data for statistics, what data to filter, sort and subtotal.

To properly analyze, you will need to create numerous Pivot tables and charts. Remember, this is all about increasing commission income without increasing commission percentage.

Analyze: The pivot tables and charts should provide you with some ideas on what to suggest.

Part : Proposal points

In MS Word, write a page proposal, including a cover page. The proposal should include your recommendations on how to increase commission income. Include analysis and relevant data, chart, and statistics to support your recommendations. Copy the various components from your spreadsheet, statistics subtotal list, pivot table and chart and arrange them attractively on your document.

Use your creativity to design a professional cover page.
