This is an open-booked, untimed assignment. Find a federal agency that adjudicates claims and answer these questions about the agency's adjudication process:

1. Does the agency have specific regulations and/or statutory requirements about its adjudication procedures? If so, explain briefly what they are and provide the citations to them. If not, what does the agency follow for adjudication procedures?

2. Do the agency's adjudication procedures meet the constitutional procedural due process requirements you learned about in this course? Do they exceed those requirements? Be sure to explain the specific constitutional requirements and legal standards, and analyze whether they are met, not met, or exceeded in your answer

3. Does the agency have any statutes, regulations, or any other requirements, about the rules of evidence for the information that is presented at adjudicatory hearings? If so, what are they? If not, how does the agency determine what information can be submitted as evidence during the adjudicatory hearing process?

4. Find an adjudicatory decision issued by the agency and brief it by providing the party names, the key facts, the legal rules applied, and the result.

Include in your briefing a short explanation of your thoughts about the decision that answers the following:

a. Did the agency follow its statutory and regulatory requirements for hearings in rendering the decision?

b. Does the outcome of the decision seem fair and consistent with the agency's mission? Why or why not?

c. What do you think about the decision?
