Wong is a businessman who wants to explore into the retail world of menswear and is currently looking for a manufacturer whom he can purchase goods from. He comes across an advertisement in the newspaper that reads: "New factory which uses crocodile skin to make clothes rakes in millions" On 5th June, Wong makes a telephone call to the factory and insists on speaking with the owner of the company, who tums out to be Malik. Both Malik and Wong began their discussion with regards to sale and purchase and both parties seemed interested in pursuing the business. As a result of this newly forged friendship, Wong gifts Malik with a 'gift hamper' to signify the beginning of a good business relationship. On 7th June, Malik wrote to Wong offering to sell 500 kg worth of crocodile - skin bags at $30 per bag. On 9th June, Wong posted a reply in which he accepted Malik's offer but added that if he did not hear to the contrary, he would assume that the price included delivery to Wong's shop. The following morning on 10th June, before Wong's letter arrived at Malik's place, Malik read an article on the internet that reported a protest by animal rights group activists. The headline appeared in bold: "CROCODILES ARE ANIMALS, NOT ACCESSORIES". He also came across another article which predicted the fall in price of accessories made using animal skin as a result of a lesser demand in such goods. Hence, Malik immediately sent an e-mail to Wong stating 'our price of $30 per bag includes delivery. On receiving Malik's e-mail at 11 a.m. the same day, Wong posted a letter to Malik confirming his acceptance of Malik's terms. However mid-way, Wong also saw the same article which predicted the fall in price of accessories made using animal skin. He immediately sent an e-mail to Malik stating "Decline your offer. I do not want to proceed" The price of accessories made using animal skin did fall below $30 per bag and Wong refuses to accept any goods from Malik Advise Malik with regards to the issues above.
