Feedback for 8-1 Capstone Component 2: Manufacturing or Service, Production/Resource Scheduling and Inventory Management

You have some good examples of operational and supply chain techniques applied to your new bottle. When you think of capacity, think of how you will add this bottle to the existing production of PBM products. They are already using machinery for 2 shifts 5 days a week. You are suggesting running all day every day for just the new product on 2 machines? Make sure you leave the machines available for producing existing products too. Your capacity constraint is the availability of the machines. Does that make sense? Your process flowchart is better in that it focuses on the production process, but there are no decision points? No QA checks or inspection points? Each process step should be instructional, as if you are telling the operator what step to do next. Revise the process flow so it provides each step in an action oriented step. This appears to be a paragraph of explanation that has been chopped into boxes. The inventory approach is still not correctly applied. If you are using VMI, it is your supplier that is providing a raw material that will manage their material that they supply. This is not an ideal solution and has many drawbacks which should be addressed (why the extra cost for raw materials?). You want to look at inventory approaches for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. RFID is fine, but it sounds like you are stocking inventory and using a replenishment trigger point. You want to identify and explain the inventory management approach that coincides. Finally the TOC and bottlenecks does not apply to inventory approaches and it is not clear why it is in this section. You can actually create a resource plan for the planned operation in addition to discussing it.
