The final project for this course is the creation of a final paper. Based on the knowledge obtained in this course and previous coursework, you examine a topic of your choice that is covered throughout the course.

I have attached the rubric, as the teacher grades strictly off of it.

I have also attached a list of all topics covered in the class, in addition to a note from the teacher.

For the final project, please pick a company or create a fictitious company, and show how you will implement one of the accounting information systems processes (listed under Module 3: Final Project) that is used (or may be used) within the company and conduct your research. Your topic will be one of the accounting information systems processes (e.g. Purchasing Process). The main elements include: I. II. III. IV. V. VI. 1. Abstract Purpose of the report Background of the subject process in the company - Provide background information about how the company is operating; its businesses, clients/customers, and any other information you can provide about the company. Discussion of current business issues that led up to the need for a new accounting information system process Detailed treatment of the proposed process demonstrating application of the major concepts learned in the course Attachments i. ii. Bibliography Other back material as needed (detailed tables, extended quotations from which shorter quotes are taken, etc.) You will use headings for each of the items in the main elements. VI may contain just your References or Bibliography. Title page, reference, and diagrams (if any; put in appendix) pages do not count toward the 10-12 pages. The main body of the paper, the purpose, and the abstract should be 10-12 pages. However, I will not penalize you if your paper is a couple of pages short and completely responds to the assignment. The resources will include information about the company (if real) and resources about how (objectives, the process, needs etc) to implement an accounting system. Resources include credible websites (e.g. www.isaca.org), textbooks, and journal articles. Note: You will pick a specific company or create a fictitious one. See the final project rubric for more details (link). ACC 315: Final Project Rubric Overview The final project for this course is the creation of a final paper. Based on the knowledge obtained in this course and previous coursework, you examine a topic of your choice that is covered throughout the course. Main Elements Write your report following this general outline: I. Abstract II. Purpose of the report III. Background of the subject process in the company IV. Discussion of current business issues that led up to the need for a new accounting information system process V. Detailed treatment of the proposed process demonstrating application of the major concepts learned in the course VI. Attachments i. Bibliography ii. Other back material as needed (detailed tables, extended quotations from which shorter quotes are taken, etc.) Format The paper should be between 10 and 12 double-spaced pages (excluding attachments) The paper should be researched with no fewer than five citations. You need to use APA formatting for this paper. Rubric Guidelines for Submission: Written components of projects must follow these formatting guidelines when applicable: double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and discipline-appropriate citations.
