This is for my big statistics research project:

Topic: Is there a statistically significant relationship between gun ownership and one's mental health status?

The null hypothesis is: that there is not a statistically significant relationship between gun ownership and one's mental health status.

The alternative hypothesis: is that there is a statistically significant relationship between gun ownership and one's mental health status.

This is the info on my participants:

The data used in this research project is brought in from the GSS website, the General Social Survey. GSS is an archival data survey site that uses electronic reporting, face-to-face interviews, and telephone interviews to collect the data. The number of participants in this study is 909 and collected from the year 2018. The participants that have guns in the home were identified by answering a "yes" or "no" question. These individuals were also asked how many days in the last 30 days their mental health was not good (including sadness, depression, and stress).

I planned on using chi-square test of independence, but am wondering if I need to keep participants that answered "no" to gun ownership? I think I do, but want to verify.

Also, if yes, what kind of graph would be good to represent this data?

My data is attached.

Thank you for your help.
