This is for my music appreciation course! Please choose only ONE to complete. Directions: This assignment will focus on an important genre of Western Music. In this case it is the Symphony. The composer's name is in bold print and the symphony they composed is in italics directly beneath. Answer these questions in the following, be specfic and detailed;

1. List the year in which your chosen composer was born and the year in which they died. Also, please list the country of their birth.

2. Define the term Symphony. What are the specific characteristics which allow a piece of music to be called a symphony?

3. Lastly, The final question in this assignment includes a few specific steps. Each of the two symphonies listed above are comprised of multiple movements (sections). First, you must list the title of each movement contained in the symphony you have chosen. The titles will be tempo markings for the most part such as allegro, andante, presto, etc. You can refer back to Module 1 to clarify the meaning of tempo if you like. Some movements may contain a combination of terms. For the second part of this question you must provide an accurate definition for the meaning of each movement's title. The goal here is to reinforce your understanding of these key terms which permeate all types of Western Classical Music.
