This is my second course where we cover how play contributes to the curriculum and the benefits that it has provided for young children and their education. However, how can it play in children that are going through trauma, like grief. This is a topic that we don't cover in most of our courses when it comes to early childhood. I have had to learn as my charges go through grief. How do we as teachers and caregivers help students cope through trauma and how can play help them cope, understand and support them from this hard path.
Furthermore, is how technology should be incorporated into the play center curriculum. I feel that technology should be incorporated but how long should it be considered to surpassed the need. Should we let students explore technology everyday, once every day, month? How do we limit the amount of time given on a tablet or computer? What is the appropriate time frame? Do we make it part of the routine or schedule or just the curriculum as part of play and education of STEM?
