Ten college-age, nondrinking, female volunteers were recruited to study the effect of drinking alcohol on reaction time. They were randomly assigned to two groups. Those in the first group drank the equivalent of two cans of regular beer; those in the second group drank the same amount of a non-alcoholic beer. The groups were not paired in any way. Half an hour after drinking, they performed a driving simulation. Their scores were as follows (higher scores correspond to faster reaction times):

Regular beer: 46, 54, 58, 60, 66

Non-alcoholic beer: 62, 69, 77, 79, 86
