This is super broad, so I apologize for that, but I'm doing a paper comparing a bunch of economists' views on globalization and free trade, and I have not been comprehending a single thing in this course. We're working out of Free Trade Under Fire by Douglas Irwin, and I need to understand Irwin's stances on free trade, fair trade, economic globalization, and protectionism.
If you can explain different major trade agreements/organizations (NAFTA, WTO, etc) and their effects on developing countries that would be much appreciated--this is a 300-level global political economics class and I have exactly zero background in econ so I will take literally any help I can get.
I also don't understand the differences between mercantilism, protectionism, and interventionism--my prof uses these words A LOT and I am so lost.
