You will complete this discussion based on the role of each participant in the distribution channel and the elements of the promotional mix utilized by an organization.

After completing a project on Procter & Gambles (P & G) marketing strategy, your boss asked you to explore their distribution and promotion focus. She would like to obtain ideas for how your Capstone employer could become more like P & G in these areas. In order to provide your boss with insight into this topic, you will respond to the following questions:

  1. Review the P & G Company Strategy section of their website. Based this review, your knowledge of P & G from the M8 Capstone Assignment: Marketing Strategy Focus, and the content in this module, characterize the role of each participant in the P & G distribution channel by addressing each of the following:
  2. Agents: what would be the responsibilities of a P & G agent?
  3. Brokers: what type of buyer would a broker bring into contact with P & G?
  4. Industrial Distributors: what would be the nature of their involvement with P & G?
  5. Wholesalers: what would be the relationship between P & G and a wholesaler? What would be the relationship between an organization such as Schoolcraft College and the wholesaler?
  6. Retailers: give an example of two retailers that would sell P & G products.
  7. Select a product from the Brands section of P & Gs website and discuss the elements of their promotional mix by addressing the following:
  8. Traditional Advertising: describe an example of paid promotion through a traditional media channel for your selected product.
  9. Personal Selling: describe how a face-to-face presentation to a prospective buyer could be utilized for your selected product.
  10. Sales Promotion: describe an example of an activity that P & G could utilize to stimulate consumer buying for your selected product.
  11. Public Relations: review the News Releases and Community Impact sections of P & Gs website and describe their efforts to win goodwill or prestige for the company, which could ultimately benefit the sale of your selected product.
  12. Social Media: describe P & Gs use of social media including Twitter and Facebook, as well as the Blog section of their website, to generate "buzz" about your selected product and the company.
  13. E-Commerce: return to the Brands section, enter the separate website for your selected product, and describe how P & G uses this site to generate sales.
