This is the twelfth Ethics & Compliance Specialist Capstone Project installment as outlined in Module 0 located in the Learning Modules section.

The basis for your work will be the knowledge gained in this module related to how a business could affect the well-being of its stakeholders, the obligation of a business to protect its stakeholders from harm, and how a business's failure to fulfill its core purpose can change lives.

Glaxo, now known as GlaxoSmithKline plc., is a global corporation with sales of pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and consumer healthcare products. Review the GlaxoSmithKline About Us section to gain further insight into their current operations.

Respond to the following questions:

1. Summarize the facts of this case including Cheryl Eckard's concerns expressed to management, management's reaction/inaction, and the ultimate outcome.
2. Describe how the company's handling of the issue impacted the welfare of the following stakeholders:

3. Review the Responsibility section of their website for evidence that GlaxoSmithKline is committed to protecting its stakeholders from harm. Summarize your findings and indicate your level of confidence in their ability to protect their stakeholders. Do you believe that the same issue could reoccur? Support your response.
4. Discuss the factors that you believe resulted in Glaxo's failure to fulfill its core purpose before Cheryl's concerns were raised, after the company denied her allegations, and after the company denied lying to the FDA. Do you believe that the Vice-President of Quality and the CEO should have received prison time for not taking Cheryl's claims seriously and putting profit over safety? Support your response.
