This just got kicked back saying it was missing information. All information is here. The data set it as the bottom of the page. What else specifically is incomplete?
Please help with following questions. Please show work and necessary graphs for better understanding. Thank You :)
1.Use dataset (CS_EXP Bottom of Page) for following .
a)Find the following values:
i. sample size,
ii. sample mean,
iii.sample standard deviation.
Please round the sample mean and sample standard deviation to 4 decimal places andinclude the table where you found this information. thank you
b)Make a Normal quantile plot of the data. What are any important features and on the distribution of the data. Please include your graph, thank you.
2.Previous studies claim that the population mean cognitive score for this test (CS_EXP) is .80, with a population standard deviation of .12. Based on the data, make a hypothesis test (with a 1% significance level) to see if there is evidence that the population mean CS_EXP is less than.80.
a)Use necessary notation to tell the hypothesis.
b) Calculate the test statistic. use correct notation. and round answer to 2 decimal places and show work.
c)Give the probability statement for the test statistic and the p-value. Make the p-value to 4 decimal places.
d)Make a conclusion in terms of the story. Make sure to specify whether the conclusion refers to the population or the sample.
3.We are still interested in testing the same hypothesis as in problem 2, but we really do not have knowledge of the population standard deviation.
a)Based on the information given, answer the following:
i.How does this problem differ from Problem 2?
ii.Based on this difference, will the test statistic be different? Tell the name of the test statistic.
b)Using the data, make a hypothesis test (with a 5% significance level) to see if there is evidence that the population mean CS_EXP is less than .80. USE SPSS to find the test statistic and P-value, please include your output information.
i.Tell the null and alternative hypotheses using correct notation.
ii.Give the value of the test statistic (USE SPSS, you should NOT calculate this by hand)
iii.Give the probability statement for the test statistic and the p-value (USE SPSS for the p-value).
iv.Tell the conclusion in terms of the story. Make sure to specify whether your conclusion refers to the population or the sample.
c)What is the 95% confidence interval for the population mean CS_EXP? Keep in mind we still don't know the true population standard deviation. You should use the SPSS output from (b).
4.Use the restrictions for using the t test procedures (robustness guidelines), for this sample size.
a)What do we need our data to look like for the t procedures to be appropriate?
b)Is it appropriate to use the t procedures for this data?(If you use any additional graphs from SPSS please include them)
