This lab report provides an investigation into the levels of particulate matter in two different environments: a parking lot and an indoor setting. The primary objective of the study was to test the hypothesis that the mean particulate matter in the parking lot is greater than the mean particulate matter indoors. To test this hypothesis, data was collected from both environments and statistical analyses were performed using a one-tailed t-test. The report includes the calculation of the mean and standard deviation for each data set, followed by the calculation of the t-value. The t-value is then compared to a critical value from a t-table to determine if the hypothesis can be either rejected or accepted with a certain level of confidence. The results of this study have implications for understanding air pollution in different environments and can inform measures to reduce particulate matter and other air pollutants both on campus and globally
