Overall ACL Skills Assignment 1

Read Chapter 1 of ACL in Practice. Work through Chapter 2, and utilize ACL skills obtained to calculate the following using the Employee_List project (access this project using the instructions on page 10 of ACL in Practice):

a. The printout of the total bonuses for the year 2002. Although there are a number of ways to obtain a printout, simply cut and paste the result from page 15 to a Word file.

b. Determine which employee was hired most recently. Provide that employees name and the date on which he or she was hired.

c. Use the total fields function to determine the total of employees salaries and provide that information.

d. In Chapter 2 of ACL in Practice you were required to use the Quick Sort feature to view data (here, employee salaries) in ascending and descending order. Why might an auditor find this to be a useful function in this and other applications?
