First, please make sure you have read the \"Guide to Case Anafysis\" posted on the DZL course website. Please use the following framework in a exible way as you analyze cases, but make sure that you use headings and subheadings to structure your analysis. In general, if you use the steps listed, you will have good structure to guide your analysis. Ultimately, there is no recipe for a case analysis; you must accept the ambiguity. The ambiguity is the point because in the real world you will face much more, especially at the strategic level, i.e., you will not have all the facts written up for you in one document. Instead, you will have to nd the facts yourself and you will not even know whether you have all the facts or whether you have chosen to focus on the right ones for your decision making. Cases help you to practice working through a lot of information and come to some logical, well-explained decisions. Framework: 1) List Stakeholders 0 Identify all potential stakeholders and the key stakeholders. Key stakeholders are usually those parties emphasized in the case. - Stakeholders are not only those parties who the rm recognizes as such. Stakeholders include parties who consider themselves stakeholders. 2) List Key Case Facts I In some cases, issues are clear, in others they are not. When issues are not clear, you may want to start by listing some key case facts. Otherwise, if the case issue(s) isfare obvious, you may want to perform this step after Issue Identication. 0 List the key case facts in point form so that they are helpful to you for the rest of the case. You should not have more than half a page here. You will use other facts in your analysis, but the key facts help you to think about what is crucial and stay on track. 0 Do not add any facts to your case analysis that are not stated in the case. You will have enough to deal with in the case. 3) Issue identication 0 List important issues that you notice as you read the case. Then take a look at them again and see whether some of the issues are so closely related to each other that they may be consolidated into a fewer number of issues. I Try to list a set of separate issues. Try to identify a main question or issue that links most of the issues you found and focus on answering this main question in your case analysis. However, addressing the separate sub-issues may be an easier way to break down the problem in your analysis. This will depend on the case you are faced with. 4) Options and Analyses For each issue, think about the key related facts and develop options for dealing with each issue. List the options under each issue (options can be listed in point form). If you know of some analytical frameworks that could be helpful to you, consider using them to aid your analysis (Stakeholder Analysis, BCG matrix, Porter's 5 Forces, Product Life Cycle Analysis, SWOT, PESTEL, etc.) You may decide to do some relevant nancial analysis if nancial information is provided in the case. Remember to consider social, environmental, economic, and governance aspects though (a sustainable solution) and avoid being overly focused on the nancial numbers because many aspects are difcult to quantify. Think \"triple bottom line\". Systematically address each option for each issue with logical argument using sentences identify the strengths and weaknesses of each option. Use subheadings. 5) Recommendations Compare the options you analyzed in the last section and provide complete reasoning for why you choose particular ways to deal with the issues. You may decide that a combination of options work well together, but you need to explain how the solutions t together. This section includes an \"Implementation Plan" section clearly delineating the timelines for required activities to reach major goals with intermediate milestones and turning points where decisions need to be made, possibly based on information, etc. that would otherwise be unknown in the beginning. Make sure that your recommendation and implementation plans are written up clearly in sentences so that anyone familiar with the case could follow your reasoning
