avera Student Instructions - Assessment Task 1 - A Case Study For this Assessment Task, as a Case Study, you will be required to develop and implement an operational plan using a variety of information sources and consultation (including using specialist advice - which can be provided by your Trainer) which includes: resource requirements . key performance indicators monitoring processes contingency plans Operational plans can be subdivided into two categories: 1. Single-use plans address only the current period or a specific problem. a. An example would be a plan to cut costs during the next year. 2. Ongoing plans carry forward to future periods and are changed as necessary. b. An example would be a long-term plan to retain workers instead of layoffs. In addition, when developing and implementing strategies to achieve your operational plan you will need to take into account the following: recruiting, inducting and developing personnel acquiring physical resources and services protecting intellectual property making variations to the plan monitoring and documenting performance. For your Case Study, as a Sous Chef, you have been requested, by your Head Chef to develop an Operational plan for the kitchen that will increase the return to their shareholders over the next five calendar years (2020-2025). The Head Chef has further indicated he wants to cut costs by ten percent during the next year to achieve this goal. He wants to know very specifically what actions you will take, when these actions will occur and who will perform them. He also wants to know if you will require any additional financial resources or manpower to implement your plan. Your operational plan should be able to answer the following: Who - The personnel who are responsible for completing specific tasks. . . What - A description of what each person will be responsible for. Where - Information on where these operations will take place. Activate Windows When - The deadlines for when the tasks and goals are to be completed. How much - The additional costs, if any, required to complete specific tasks. Go to Settings to activate
