This report should explore the impact of three levels (national, industrial and company) business environment factors on international businesses. First, you need to investigate the Outward Foreign Direct Investment (OFDI) and exports patterns from UK and China to their main host economies in the last 10 years. This will include changes in the overall volume and main host countries by using data that you have collected from the relevant sources including the United Nations (UNCTADstat), OECD and World Bank. You need to address to what extent the above trend is explained by theories of trade/trade barriers.

Second, you will examine the export/OFDI patters of one product or service (industrial level analysis, such as cars, football clubs, and vacuum cleaners) from UK and China from relevant data source.Thirdly, you will use specific companies to support your analysis (company level, such as Dyson moved to Singapore, Fosun International took over Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, Geely Holding Group owns Lotus sports car). Then you will need to identify and apply the relevant FDI theories and International Business environmental factors (political/legal, economic, social/climate, or technological) to explain how these theories and factors have shaped the patterns and International Business activities observed above. At the end of your report, you will provide recommendations drawn from your analysis and findings to each of the country's governments with regard to encourage export/OFDI if it is desirable.
