This semester you will be completing an Annual Report Project. I would like you to list your favorite retail company that is publicly traded (meaning you can buy its stock on a stock exchange). It must be a retailer, not a service company or manufacturer. After you list your company, look up what a share of stock is trading at and include the price per share. You can look up a share of stock by using the search bar in the top right at the Wall Street Journal. As long as you answer correctly, meaning it is a retailer and public company, you will use this company to complete your annual report project. However, you cannot use Amazon because I demonstrate different accounting topics using its financials throughout the semester. For example: One of my favorite retailers is Costco. Recently my husband and I went to Alaska and one of the first things we did was to go to Costco in Anchorage to get some snacks and bottled water for the week and Alaskan coffee to bring home. Costco is trading at $507.59 per share as of 6/1/23. If Costco is a favorite of yours, use it, but the price per share will be different. You must respond to another student's post for full credit. Answer in complete sentences and use proper spelling and grammar. You must capitalize I (not i)
