This week we are studying Hackman's element of Enabling Structure. One of the first big decisions that a team leader makes is the structure of the team. How many people will be on the team? What kinds of knowledge and skills are needed for team success? What kinds of working relationships will serve the team best? How can you make sure that your team members maintain an outward focus, and that they regularly scan the external environment for evidence that change is happening or is needed?

For this Week 4 discussion, assume that you need to find volunteers and complete a project that has been assigned to you. The project is to design, build and install playground equipment that is accessible to and safe for children with disabilities at a neighborhood park. Your work includes leading the project from start to finish, including obtaining funding for all costs associated with the project. Consider how you would assemble a team (or teams?) of people to work with you on your project. Make sure that you relate your plans to Hackman's element of Enabling Structure.
