This week, we close the loop by returning to your life aspirations. While you are in a graduate program with a focus on your career, it is also important to pause and look at your life as a whole. Whether we like or not, life goes by quickly. At the end of one's life, very few people say that they wish they had spent more time at work. Earlier in the term, you did several exercises to createee aaa picture of your desired life. You then honed in on your 3-5 year professional goals. This week, we are going to return tooo aaa look at how you want to live your life and dispel the notion that you can have work/life balance. Stewart Friedman's article dispels this myth and offers some practical advice. You may want to go to the website link that he offers in his article: www.myfourcircles.com. Kevin Cashman gives us practical advice in his chapter "Being Mastery" on how to stay connected to the present moment. Using a scale of 0 to 10, rate your current satisfaction with each of the eight areas of your life. Zero means not satisfied and 10 means highly satisfied.

Connect the lines to form an inner wheel. This gives you an idea of balance in your life.

If this wheel were a tire on your car, how bumpy would the ride be?

How can you get a smoother ride? Remember, true balance is ideal. Which one area of your life either needs more attention or integration, using the Friedman model?
