This week will be an exercise in searching for and reading cases. Go to Google Scholar. Below the search bar, choose “Legal Documents”. You can then search a topic of your choice (e.g. "cats"). The results will be cases that involve or have the word you searched for. On the left hand side you are able to select which court the cases come from (ex. Federal or a specific state). Explore your options and have a bit of fun with it. Pick a case and read through it (do not get bogged down in the workings of the case, for this assignment keep your understanding very basic).
Create thread with the title of your case (A v. B). Name the two parties, what court it is in (federal, state, trial, appellate, etc.), the basics of the facts of the case (keep it simple), and describe the appellate process available to the parties (if it is a supreme court case, how did it get there; At the bottom of your post please cite your case - proper citation appears at the top of the page when you click
