This week, your task is to develop a strategy for making better use of data to boost industrial output. Due to breakdowns and other delays in parts, the firm has only been producing 250 products per day on average, when it should be producing 400. The corporation sees this as a loss-maker and wants you to use data to figure out how to fix it.
The strategy should incorporate:

Manufacturing: Our facility has dual assembly lines. When each worker is on duty throughout the day and night, they may crank out 200 units per day.
There are a total of twelve different machines, six robotic assemblers on each of the two lines. Six of them were acquired in the past two years and they report fault analysis data to the network server whenever something seems off. Even when everything is working as it should, they continue to send in data for the sake of performance monitoring. The other six are a little bit older and only report problems when they occur.
We don't have to worry about storing materials because they continually arrive from our vendors. There's a risk that a late item will halt production altogether. The inventory system keeps track of everything from the arrival of parts to the order lead times.
Twenty mechanics and machinists provide the facility's labor. Three mechanics are responsible for the upkeep of the robots. One for every shift. All of them have received instruction on how to properly care for the machinery. A ten-year veteran, a five-year veteran, and a novice all make up the staff. Their whole training history is chronicled, even down to the most recent changes. Everyone punches in and out at predetermined intervals. It is common for a shift to go without a mechanic on duty when someone is sick or on vacation, despite the fact that shifts can be traded or expanded.
The most often used machine parts are kept on shelves in the supply room. About 65% of the time, we have the necessary parts in stock to fix a robot. Everything is kept in a database for stockpiling.
When one of the machines stops working, the entire line stops. Fixing a robot can take anywhere from an hour if we already have the necessary parts on hand to a whole day if we need to contact the manufacturer or have a replacement part shipped overnight.
Write out a plan outlining your strategy for analyzing the data and making recommendations to the manager. Provide suggestions for new data collection systems if necessary.
You should aim for three pages with your plan.
