Thomas was driving shortly after a sever rain storm. He drove very carefully since he knew the street was slippery and still wet from the rain storm. As he approached a stop light he applied his brakes in order to stop for the red light. However, his car continued to slide slowly pass the crosswalk because of an oil slick that was on the pavement. The combination of the rain and the oil slick made the street surface extremely slippery. As his car entered the intersection he was hit by another driver William. William did have the right of way since the light was green for him. William wants to file an action against Thomas based on negligence.
