Three resistors having resistances of 1.60 , 2.40 , and 4.80 , are connected in parallel to a 26.0 V battery that has negligible internal resistance.
Which resistor dissipates the most power, the one with the greatest resistance or the one with the least resistance? Explain why this should be. Here are the options
a)Since P=V2/R and V is the same for all three resistors, the resistor with the smallest R dissipates the greatest power.
b) Since P=I2R the resistor with the greatest R dissipates the greatest power.
I am really confused which option is correct one because both are formula of power. Can anyone please give me accurate sureshot answer and explanation for this. Thank you very much!!!!
