[Time: approximately 15 minutes] After graduation, two good university buddies founded a start-up that makes a smart mousetrap that automatically kills dangerous rodents. Louise invented the mousetrap. A large farming company, BigFarm, loves the product and tells Monica and Louise that they would like to buy the rights to the mousetrap for $100,000. Louise has always relied on Monica for all financial decisions in the company. Monica specialized in Finance at Sauder and was happy to take care of all of the company's finances. Louise is an engineering graduate and does not concern herself with the company's finances. She has never looked at the company's financial statements and would not know how to interpret them, regardless. She also does not have a clue about the market value of her invention. As the inventor of the technology, Louise personally holds the rights to the mousetrap. So, she will be the one signing the sale contract with BigFarm. Louise asks Monica whether it is a good idea to sell the rights to the mousetrap for $100,000. Monica says she has researched it and it is a great price and the right decision. Louise says, "I completed trust your judgment, whatever you want to do is what I will do." Louise signs the agreement to sell the rights to the mousetrap for $100,000 to BigFarm. Louise and Monica split the money between them. Following the sale, Louise finds out that BigFarm resold the rights to the mousetrap to another buyer for $10 million only 10 days after they had bought the rights from Louise. Louise is furious. She thinks the sale contract she signed is really unfair! She says she was vulnerable to Monica and that the contract is therefore not valid. Is she correct? Explain with reference to applicable legal concepts and cases. Edit Format Table 12pt Paragraph v B I U A & V. TV *
