Tina has other problems. She recently bought an old painting for $200 at a used furniture store owned by Roger. When Tina took it to an art store to be reframed, she was told the painting was by a famous artist who had died and it was worth about $20,000. Don, an art dealer, who was a friend of the art store owner, later called Tina and offered her $18,000 for the painting and she agreed. They met and signed a typed contract but the price was listed as $13,000 and neither side noticed the wrong price. When Don came over to pick up the painting, he re-read the contract and saw the lower price and wrote her a cheque for $13,000. Tina was furious and refused to sell the painting to Don unless he pays $18,000. Don says he will take her to court and make her sell it to him for $13,000. They each called lawyers. Roger also went to Tina's home and demanded she give him back the painting or at least $18,000. He said their original contract for $200 is totally unfair and the courts will cancel it, because he didn't know the true value of the painting when he sold it to her. He said also on the bottom of Tina's bill of sale it stated that "The contract is void if there were any errors or omissions," so that entitles him to cancel the deal and get back the painting. Tina refused to give him the painting and ordered him to leave. Roger shook his fist at her and said he would see her in court and he slammed the door on his way out breaking the glass window in the door. All parties contacted lawyers.
